Prayer is the fight
Most men treat prayer like a backup plan. Scripture treats it like the main event. If the war is spiritual, then the weapon is spiritual. Prevailing prayer is not louder prayer. It is prayer that refuses to quit.
Three kinds of prayer every man needs
- Standing prayer. Short, spoken, out loud, throughout the day.
- Kneeling prayer. Focused, unhurried, one topic at a time.
- Warfare prayer. Naming the enemy, claiming the ground, covering your household.
When heaven feels silent
Silence is not absence. Sometimes God is training you to keep asking. Elijah prayed seven times before the cloud appeared. Do not confuse delay with denial.
Cover your household
Pray your wife's name. Pray your children's names. Pray the door of your home. If you do not stand in the gap, someone will, and it will not be a friend.
Reflect
- When did you last pray out loud for your household by name?
- What have you stopped praying for because you got tired of waiting?
- What is one prayer you will refuse to quit on this month?
