Sermon · The War Within
We Are All At War
Naming the battle beneath every battle.
About this teaching
An opening word on Ephesians 6:12 - why the fight you are in is bigger than you thought, and why that is actually good news.

Scripture
Ephesians 6:10-12. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world."
The battle beneath every battle
Most men do not lose to the obvious enemy. They lose because they never named the real one. The addiction, the anger, the passivity, the isolation, these are symptoms. Underneath them is a war for your soul, your household, and your inheritance.
Three things Paul makes clear
- The war is real. You did not imagine it.
- The war is not primarily against people. It is against powers.
- You were given armor because you were expected to fight.
Why this is good news
If the war is spiritual, then the answer is spiritual. You're not broken beyond repair. You're a soldier who forgot he was in a fight. The moment you name the battle, you stop blaming yourself for losing a war you never armed up for.
Reflect
- What have you been calling a personal failure that is actually spiritual warfare?
- Where in your life have you been fighting flesh and blood instead of the real enemy?
- What would change this week if you took Ephesians 6:12 at face value?
