Lesson 12 · 10 min

Growing Daily

Rhythms that turn belief into a life.

Overview

Theme: Rhythm.

Key Scripture. "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 3:18

What this step is about. The Christian life is a walk, not a sprint. It is built in daily rhythms - time in the Word, time in prayer, time with God''s people, honest confession, obedient action. None of them are impressive on their own. All of them together grow a life.

Why it matters. No one drifts into maturity. You drift into weakness. You have to build the rhythms that keep you close to Jesus, or the world will build rhythms for you that pull you away. The men and women who go the distance are not the flashiest. They are the most consistent.

What Scripture says. Colossians 2:6-7 - as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him. Ephesians 4 says we grow up in every way into Him who is the head. Growth is not automatic, but it is normal. God expects it, and He supplies it, but you have to show up.

Warpath truth. Small daily disciplines beat big occasional bursts. A short prayer today beats a long one you keep meaning to pray. One chapter read today beats a plan you never start. Build the rhythm. Keep it small enough to actually do. Then do it.

Pray

Father, I want to grow. Not for show. For You. Build rhythms in my life that keep me close to You. Make me faithful in the small things. Amen.

Sit with this

No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.

  1. 01

What is one rhythm in your life right now that is actually growing you?

  2. 02

What is one rhythm you know you need to build?

  3. 03

What is the smallest, most honest version of that rhythm you can start tomorrow?

Before you walk on

Today: pick one daily rhythm - five minutes of Scripture, five minutes of prayer, one text to a brother or sister - and commit to it for the next seven days.
