Lesson 2 · 10 min
Salvation
What Jesus did and what it means for you.
Overview
Theme: Grace.
Key Scripture. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9
What this step is about. Salvation is not a self-improvement plan. It is a rescue. You do not save yourself by trying harder, praying longer, or cleaning up your act. Jesus took the weight of your sin on the cross, exchanged your record for His, and rose from the grave to prove the debt was paid.
Why it matters. If you think you have to earn it, you will burn out or fake it. Every time you fall you will hide. But salvation is not a wage; it is a gift. You receive it by trusting the finished work of Jesus, not by adding your own works to it. That truth is the ground you will stand on for the rest of your life.
What Scripture says. Romans 10:9 - "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Titus 3:5 says He saved us not because of works done by us but according to His own mercy. Salvation is a change of ownership. You were bought with a price.
Warpath truth. You're not on probation. If your trust is in Jesus, you are His son. The enemy will try to keep you working for what has already been given. Refuse. Receive. Then live like a man who has been forgiven.
Pray
Jesus, thank You. I could not save myself. I trust what You did on the cross. Be my Savior and my Lord. Teach me to live from a gift, not for one. Amen.
