Lesson 1 · 10 min
Who Is Jesus?
The center of everything.
Overview
Theme: Jesus.
Key Scripture. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6
What this step is about. Everything in the Christian life starts with a Person, not a program. Jesus is God in the flesh - fully God, fully man - sent by the Father to live the life we could not live and die the death we deserved. He is not one option on a shelf of teachers. He is the door.
Why it matters. You will never grow past the smallness of your view of Jesus. If He is only a moral example, He can inspire you. If He is the crucified and risen Son of God, He can save you. Any foundation built on anything else will crack under real pressure. Every step ahead in this journey rests on this one.
What Scripture says. John 1 says the Word was with God and was God, and became flesh and lived among us. Colossians 1 says all things were made through Him and for Him. Jesus did not come to add spirituality to your life. He came to be your life. His death paid what you owed. His resurrection proves it worked.
Warpath truth. You do not need to clean up before you meet Him. You need to meet Him so He can begin to clean you up. Come honest. He is not shocked by anything you bring, and He does not turn away men who show up broken. That is exactly who He came for.
Pray
Jesus, I want to know You. Not just facts about You. You. Meet me here. Show me who You really are, and give me the courage to trust You with the parts of my life I have kept for myself. Amen.
Sit with this
No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.
01
Who has Jesus been to you until now, and where did that picture come from?
02
What would change today if He is exactly who He says He is?
03
What are you still trying to be lord over that only He can carry?
Before you walk on
Today: read John 1:1-18 slowly, out loud. Then tell Jesus one thing you want Him to be Lord of this week.
