Spiritual Warfare

Lesson 1 · 10 min

The Armor of God

What God has already given you.

Overview

Theme: Preparation.

Key Scripture. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." - Ephesians 6:11

What this step is about. You're in a war whether or not you signed up. The armor of God is not a metaphor for a spiritual mood. It is real gear God has already given you. Your job is not to invent it. Your job is to put it on.

Why it matters. Men and women get taken out because they walk into their day undressed. No truth to steady them. No righteousness to protect them. No peace under their feet. No faith to catch fire. No salvation over their thinking. No Word in their hand. When the day hits, they are unarmed. God has not left you defenseless. He has left you a choice to suit up.

What Scripture says. Ephesians 6:14-17 lists the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Every piece is anchored in what Jesus has already done. You do not manufacture the armor. You wear it.

Warpath truth. Put it on before the fight, not during it. Start the day naming each piece and asking God to make it real in you. That is not a ritual. It is a soldier getting dressed for duty.

Pray

Father, dress me today. Truth in my mind. Righteousness over my heart. Peace under my feet. Faith in my hand. Salvation on my head. Your Word ready in my mouth. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Sit with this

No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.

  1. 01

Which piece of the armor do you most often leave off?

  2. 02

Where does the enemy consistently find you unprotected?

  3. 03

What would a suited-up morning actually look like for you?

Before you walk on

Today: before you look at your phone, pray through the six pieces of armor out loud, one at a time.
