Step 3 · ~25 min
Turning to God
Surrender · Surrender & Foundation
Overview
Warpath Step 3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.
Theme: Surrender.
Key Scripture. "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." - Romans 12:1
What this step is about. Step 2 said God can. Step 3 says God, You may. This is the decision. Not a feeling. Not a mood. A deliberate handover of your will, your future, and your daily choices to the care of the Father.
Why it matters. Most men stall here because surrender sounds like losing. It is not. It is trading the throne you cannot handle for the King who already carries the weight. If you skip this step, every step after it will be you managing your program instead of God rebuilding your life. Self-will is what got you here. It will not get you out.
What Scripture says. Jesus said, "Not My will, but Yours, be done" (Luke 22:42) - in the hardest moment of His life, He surrendered. Romans 12:1 calls it a living sacrifice: alive, but no longer your own. Proverbs 3:5-6 promises that when you stop leaning on your own understanding and acknowledge Him, He straightens the path.
Warpath truth. Surrender is not one dramatic moment. It is a decision you re-make every morning. You will drift back to self-rule. When you notice it, hand it back. That is not failure. That is the practice.
Pray
Father, I turn. Not just my words but my direction. Take back the throne I stole from You. I want Your rule, not mine. Have Your way. Amen.
Sit with this
No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.
01
What area of your will are you still refusing to release?
02
What are you afraid God will actually do if you fully surrender?
03
Write out a simple surrender prayer in your own words - no religious language.
Before you walk on
Today: kneel if you can. Out loud, name one area you have been running and hand it over. Then write the date. This is a decision, not a feeling.
