The War Within

Step 2 · ~25 min

Belief in Christ

Hope · Surrender & Foundation

Overview

Warpath Step 2. We came to believe that our Savior, Jesus Christ, could restore us to clarity, wholeness, and soundness of mind.

Theme: Hope.

Key Scripture. "I believe; help my unbelief!" - Mark 9:24

What this step is about. Step 1 ended the illusion that you could save yourself. Step 2 answers the next honest question: then who can? The answer is not a program, a plan, or a better version of you. It is a Person. Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, is able to restore what you cannot.

Why it matters. Some men admit they are powerless and still stay stuck - because they never move from powerlessness to hope. If your view of Jesus is small, your recovery will be small. If Jesus is who He said He is, no addiction, no wound, no failure is stronger than Him.

What Scripture says. In Mark 9, a father brings his tormented son to Jesus and says, "If You can do anything, have compassion." Jesus answers, "All things are possible for the one who believes." The father's response is the most honest prayer in the Bible: "I believe; help my unbelief!" That is where faith starts. Not certainty. Willingness. Colossians 1:17 says in Him all things hold together - including you.

Warpath truth. You do not have to muster giant faith. You have to bring the faith you have to the Jesus who is real. He is not intimidated by your doubt. He is moved by your honesty. Restoration is not a slogan. It is what He does.

Pray

Jesus, I believe You're who You say You are. Help my unbelief. If You're real, I want to know You. If You can restore me, I am asking. Amen.

Sit with this

No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.

  1. 01

Where have you stopped believing restoration is actually possible for you?

  2. 02

Is the Jesus you carry in your head the Jesus Scripture actually reveals? Where is the gap?

  3. 03

What would change today if you took Him at His word?

Before you walk on

Today: read Mark 9:14-29 and John 3 slowly. Write one sentence answering: what do I actually believe about Jesus right now?
