Foundations of Faith

Lesson 10 · 10 min

Grace

The kindness that keeps carrying you.

Overview

Theme: Grace.

Key Scripture. "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." - 2 Corinthians 12:9

What this step is about. Grace is not a soft word. It is the strength of God given to men who do not deserve it and cannot earn it. It got you in. It keeps you in. It will finish what it started in you.

Why it matters. Without grace, you will either be arrogant or crushed. Arrogant when you think you are doing well. Crushed when you fail. Grace kills both. It reminds you that everything good in your life is a gift, and everything broken in your life is not the last word. You get up again because grace stands you up.

What Scripture says. Titus 2:11-12 says the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. Grace is not permission to sin. It is power to live free. Lamentations 3 says His mercies are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.

Warpath truth. You will fall. You will not fall out of His hand. Get up faster than you used to. Confess it, receive the forgiveness that is already yours in Christ, and keep walking. Grace does not lower the standard. It gives you a Father who does not walk out on His sons.

Pray

Father, thank You for grace. Grace that saved me. Grace that keeps me. Grace that will finish me. Kill my pride and my hiding. Let me stand today in what You have already given. Amen.

Sit with this

No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.

  1. 01

Where have you been living like grace runs out?

  2. 02

What sin do you keep hiding because you are afraid grace will not cover it?

  3. 03

Who in your life needs to receive the grace you have received?

Before you walk on

Today: name out loud one specific thing grace is covering in your life right now, and thank God for it by name.
