Lesson 4 · 10 min
Lies vs Truth
Replacing the enemy's script with God's.
Overview
Theme: Truth.
Key Scripture. "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:32
What this step is about. The enemy is called the father of lies for a reason. He does not usually attack with obvious evil. He attacks with subtle lies about God, about you, and about your situation. Freedom comes when you learn to name the lie and replace it with what God actually said.
Why it matters. You cannot beat a lie you refuse to say out loud. Most people lose ground not because they were overpowered but because they were out-thought. What you believe today about God, yourself, and your future is directing your life whether or not you notice.
What Scripture says. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - we destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. John 8:44 says the devil has no truth in him - when he lies, he speaks his native language. Truth is not a mood. It is a Person - Jesus - and a book - the Word.
Warpath truth. Do not argue with lies in your head. Answer them with Scripture out loud. "God does not love me" - John 3:16. "I will never change" - 2 Corinthians 5:17. "I am on my own" - Hebrews 13:5. Truth spoken out loud is a weapon. Use it.
Pray
Father, tear down every lie in my head that has been shaping my life. Replace it with what You have said. Give me ears to hear Your voice above the noise. Amen.
Sit with this
No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.
01
What lie has been running in your head the loudest lately?
02
What Scripture directly answers it?
03
When will you say that truth out loud today?
Before you walk on
Today: write down one lie you have believed. Under it, write the verse that answers it. Read the verse out loud three times.
