The War Within

Step 7 · ~30 min

Preparation for Healing

Willingness · Truth & Self-Examination

Overview

Warpath Step 7. We brought our wounds and our wrongs honestly before God, finding the willingness to release resentment and walk in forgiveness with wisdom and truth, and to make things right wherever we had hurt others, while maintaining healthy boundaries.

Theme: Humility.

Key Scripture. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you." - James 4:10

What this step is about. Step 7 is where you bring both what was done to you and what you did - the wounds and the wrongs - and set them at the feet of the Father. You stop asking Him to bless a life you refuse to lay down. You ask Him to shape you into a man who walks free.

Why it matters. Unaddressed resentment turns into bitterness. Unaddressed guilt turns into shame. Both keep you bound. Humility is the posture that lets God do what only He can do - remove the weight without demanding your control back.

What Scripture says. 1 Peter 5:6-7 - "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you." Micah 6:8 - walk humbly with your God. Proverbs 3:34 - He gives grace to the humble.

Warpath truth. Humility is not weakness. It is truth about who you are and who He is. You're not the fixer. You're the son. Walking in forgiveness does not mean pretending nothing happened. It means refusing to carry what Jesus already paid for. Boundaries are not unforgiveness. They are wisdom.

Pray

Father, I bring the wounds and the wrongs. Remove what does not belong. Give me humility for what is next and courage for what You're asking. Amen.

Sit with this

No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.

  1. 01

What resentment have you carried longest, and what has it cost you?

  2. 02

Where do you need boundaries even in the middle of forgiveness?

  3. 03

What are you still trying to protect that God is asking you to lay down?

Before you walk on

Today: make a written list of people you may need to seek out. Do not act yet. Put it before God. Let Him prepare you and set the order.
