Surrendered Change
Humility · Truth & Self-Examination
Overview
Warpath Step 6. We became fully surrendered and ready, inviting God in humility to remove every defect, pattern, and way within us that does not align with His truth, His love, and the life He has called us to.
Theme: Willingness.
Key Scripture. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10
What this step is about. Step 6 is the willingness to let God change you at the root, not just the surface. You have named the defects. Now you stop protecting them. You stop negotiating with the sins you were secretly planning to keep.
Why it matters. Every man has a favorite sin - the one he confesses and quietly reserves. Step 6 is where you lay that one down too. If you leave one door cracked open, the enemy walks through it. Willingness is not perfection. It is the honest 'yes' that lets God get all the way in.
What Scripture says. David did not ask God to help him manage his heart. He asked Him to create a clean one. Ezekiel 36:26 - "I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." That is God's work, not yours. Philippians 2:13 - He is the one working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Warpath truth. You cannot fix character defects with willpower. Willpower is what got you here. You surrender them. You agree with God about what has to go. Then you take one action today that lines up with that prayer. Faith without works is dead - willingness without a step is just a feeling.
Pray
Father, I cannot change myself. But You can. I say yes to whatever You want to work in me. Take my defenses down. Take the whole thing. Amen.
Sit with this
No wrong answers. Take your time. Answer honestly, out loud if you can.
01
Which defect have you been secretly unwilling to give up?
02
Where has self-improvement replaced surrender?
03
What is one action today that would prove you actually mean 'yes'?
Before you walk on
Today: name one defect out loud. Ask God to remove it. Then take one small action that agrees with the prayer - a phone call, a delete, a boundary, a step.
